Remy Arrives

The last few days of the summer transfer window saw Jose Mourinho add the final piece to his Chelsea puzzle, as Loic Remy became the final player to join the Blues ahead of Monday's deadline. The French forward, who made two appearances for his country at the this year's World Cup, and penned a four-year contract upon joining from our west London neighbours Queens Park Rangers. 'I feel very happy and very proud,' said Remy. 'When I heard Chelsea wanted to sign me I said “let's go” straight away because they are one of the best clubs in the world. 'I wanted to play in the Champions League this season so that was another of my motivations for coming here. I know that Chelsea can win the Champions League this season because there is so much quality in the squad. The first thing to aim for is winning titles.' The 27-year-old will be familiar to Chelsea fans after his time in the Premier League with QPR and on loan at Newcastle United last season, having scored a total of 20 top-flight goals in England, including one against the Blues for the Magpies in November 2013. He also has previous Champions League experience from his time with Lyon and Marseille in France, as well as five goals to his name at international level. Goalkeeper Jamal Blackman and striker Patrick Bamford will also be team-mates in the coming months, having both joined Championship side Middlesbrough until January.
